It turns out one of my fellow theater managers has an interview on Wednesday with one of those planned-kidnapping services. (Which work like this: people who are Into That Sort Of Thing pay the service to be kidnapped, tied up, and tormented for a few hours by three or five foxy women in leather jumpsuits or Catholic schoolgirl outfits. It's sexual, clearly, but without nudity or intimate contact.) She's not sure she'll accept the job if it is offered, but I'm intrigued regardless.
The print of Young Adam is doing something I've never seen before. As it winds onto the platter, the print rises up in the middle, as though salted with yeast. The end result is something like an Olympus Mons of acetate, with an inch of clearance between print and platter in the middle. It doesn't seem to affect the performance at all, but I am baffled.
Big news from yesterday: K finished the first complete draft of her dissertation. *applause* It's 249 pages at the moment, not counting the bibliography, and and she's still adding bits to it. She had to email it in chunks to one of her committee members, currently in Turkey, and the wrangling over format caused some stress, but that seems to be settled now. I spent a while tonight putting together the last diagram for her. Looks like she might actually finish this thing.
K's other beau C is here today, for one night only; they're currently asleep in her room. I barely saw him, since I had to work, but it's always a little odd when he's about. Not bad; it just changes the dynamic. Fortunately I am nosy rather than jealous when they get up to what they get up to, so all is well on that front.
