Splah Island
Jul. 8th, 2004 02:45 amSplah Island, according to the website, is a fabulous new attraction at the Toronto Zoo. Kids all over Canada beg their parents, "Can we go to Splah Island? Pleeease? I love Splah Island!"
Okay, fine—really, it's Splash Island, and it seems to be some in-zoo waterpark sort of thing. But I love the thought of excited Canadians popping the kids in their Canadian cars and trooping off to Splah Island.
K. and I will be stopping at the Toronto Zoo tomorrow, en route to New Hampshire, en route to Pinewoods. I'm in the midst of packing, and don't have much time to write, but I wanted to warn y'all that I'd be disappearing for a couple of weeks. I should have email access this weekend, and again, possibly, a week from Sunday-Monday, but I'll generally be offline until Tuesday, July 20th. Here's the rough schedule:
7/8 - 7/9: to Portsmouth, NH, via Toronto (to see my mom)
7/10 - 7/11: "fun" in New Hampshire (with aforementioned mom)
7/12 - 7/17: Pinewoods!
7/18: New York City (to see K.'s friend Adam)
7/19: Mechanicsburg, PA (to see K.'s parents)
7/20: home again (we hope)
Pinewoods, for those who don't know, is a Scottish dance camp deep in the woods of Plymouth, Massachusetts. A week of frolicking, swimming, dancing, flirting, and (for me) guitar-playing. Mmmmm.... When I return, I should have pictures, stories, and a tired smile on my face.
N.B.: For those who know Megan Powell, I've syndicated her blog through LJ:
meganpowell. Right now it's only showing the first lines of her posts, for reasons that I hope will be worked out soon. But thank you,
showergrrl, for the gift of six months of paid account for me me me, which made this syndication possible. :)
'Til later....
