Amish drive-by pieing

A horse-drawn buggy pulled up outside our house today, with a young Amish man and woman within. They were selling cookies and pepperoni rolls and pies; we bought a blackberry pie for five dollars. I spoke only to the boy, who was unfailingly polite and shy and soft-spoken; the girl sat back in the buggy and eyed me warily. I felt very ostentatious in my Kermit the Frog T-shirt, all bright green and red marring the black.
