jere7my: muskrat skull (Sleepy me.)
Tonight K. will drive me back to Ann Arbor, so I may testify against Paul Elrod once more. There will be a jury this time, and the jury selection process is sufficiently uncertain that they can't tell me whether I will be testifying on Monday or Tuesday. Thus they'll be putting me up in a hotel tonight and tomorrow night, and I'll spend some large fraction of tomorrow and probably Tuesday sitting in the courthouse. Cops will shuttle me to and fro, which is kinda cool, I guess. I fear the "Monday or Tuesday" will stretch into Wednesday, but I don't know how possible that is. Wheels of justice? Slow and grindy, I hear. Exceedingly.

I should be able to spend some time downtown on Monday, pick up some guitar strings and picks, stop by the theater, hang out in Borders. I think I'll have sushi with Jen Monday night, maybe see some other friends. So it won't be a total loss, but all in all I'd rather stay home. I'm currently in the process of packing, rather resentfully, and deciding how best to dress for the jury. I need to review my journal entry from the night of the incident, make sure the facts are straight in my head.

I may be able to check mail and LJ from a café, but just as easily might be offline for a couple of days.

Unrelatedly, [livejournal.com profile] supergee points us to the Poor Man's version of Bush's Wolves ad. I've seen the original ad, and frankly think they're the cutest little terrorists ever; I just wanna skritch them behind the ears. The Poor Man's version has the same idea, and made me laugh a whole lot.

(The Bush ad is deceptive, by the way: it refers to Kerry voting to "slash" the intelligence budget after the "first terrorist attack on America," which is intended to make people think of 9/11 but, in fact, refers to the first WTC attack, in 1994. And the bill in question existed to close loopholes that were being exploited, like cancelled projects that were continuing to receive funding. Moreover, it was introduced by Arlen Specter, republican from Pennsylvania. Aroooo. Arf.)
