We wantssss it.
Dec. 10th, 2004 03:29 amThere is a Rutles cover album, and it features a cover by Bongos, Bass & Bob [1]. I need this.
I also need Big Daddy's cover of Sgt. Pepper. (The album, not the song.) According to Amazon, the one CD I have of theirs (Cutting Their Own Groove) is worth $80 - $100 these days. I've got another (Meanwhile, Back in the States) on vinyl.
While I'm talking about obscure music I want, I might as well mention Look People's bright yellow EP, Stop Making Cheese, another Botticelli classic. I found two of their CDs, but neither features any of the Cheese music. Alas.
[1] BB&B is Penn Jillette's band. We used to play their album Never Mind the Sex Pistols—Here Come Bongos, Bass & Bob! during Botticelli. Their songs Died Trying to Escape and Gun in My Hand and I'm Waitin' for My Woman will not get out of my head. Ever.
