I am happily ensconced at Larry's and Megan's house in Newtown Square, where the cats are big, the bed is water, and the internet is broadband. We arrived lateish on the 28th, and expect to leave on the morning of the 3rd, for those of you plotting our peregrinations on a big map somewhere.

Last night I inflicted Manos: the Hands of Fate on some poor hapless people down in the basement, after which we played a bit of Name Game and watched Office Space to get the bad taste out of our souls. Larry made tasty latkes, which I expected to be blintzes, but turned out, in fact, to be latkes.

Today I spent the afternoon with Miriam, chiefly huddling for warmth for three hours in Crumhenge while we giggled a lot and she gave me presents (Dhalgren and a nifty Marilyn Monroe card, with a 2-volume mix CD to follow). It was comfortable and easy, albeit cold—but now, of course, it is hitting me once again how much I miss her when we're in different states. I really need to make local friends, instead of developing these intense friendships with people who will always be hundreds of miles away—though, of course, even local friends will not be local for long. Hmf. That said, it was wonderful to see her, and we made each other laugh a lot. Pretty eyes, that girl has.

I spent the evening gaming in Greylock 301, except for the bits when we were heading to Swatza for dinner, with Miriam and K. and bunches of other people. [livejournal.com profile] zorblak and [livejournal.com profile] carpenter and [livejournal.com profile] eclecticboy and [livejournal.com profile] crystalpyramid and others were there; they tried to convince me (during a Scattergorical sort of game) that Alf was not an animal but that Smaug was, which just seems wrong. (Also, Pericles somehow turned into a real person when I wasn't looking.) Anyway, it was a hoot, but I was a bit too tired to fully gel with the group, and I'm too tired now to do justice to it. Therefore, goodnight.
