There are a lot of surveillance webcams in the world, and there are a lot of people who don't know how to properly protect their systems. Put these together, and you've got a lot of peepholes to peer through. Google for the string inurl:"ViewerFrame?Mode=" and you'll find hundreds of cameras, aimed at Japanese laundromats and traffic on Christmas island and the European Mars Project. Many of them have control panels, so you can pan and zoom and so on.
This isn't going to find you any Secret Coed Shower-Cams—as far as I know, and I'd personally turn off any blatantly invasive cams I discovered, because that's icky. In fact, most of the results are dead boring. But I think it's sort of interesting to have a thousand hidden eyes from which to see the world, and it gives us a sense of how easily and frequently we ourselves are watched.
