Milk tooth

I believe my kitten is teething. I found one of her milk teeth in the carpet today, worn away from underneath so what is left is little more than a kitty-crown. None of her teeth were broken or damaged, and there was no obvious hole in her mouth, but she does have little white nubs poking up through her gums in a couple of places. (Cat teeth are so different from ours. I only notice this now, when I'm approaching her mouth with a dentist's intent.)

This reduces our estimate of her age by about two months—teething should happen around month four—and explains why she's been so bitey lately. I made her a quirt from an old bootlace, and she seems to like chewing on that; so far, she has not taken to the wet-towel-in-the-freezer chew toy, which is supposed to help her gums feel better but seems chiefly to puzzle her. "Big cold orange thing? Why?"

K. is out of town again, visiting Ann Arbor for the Groundhog Ball with her-Chris, and she seems to be having a fine time. I've been filling the time playing German board games with friends online, playing Escape Velocity: Nova by myself, and watching Alien vs. Predator. Being a boy, in other words.

No news yet from Google, though I submitted the written part of the exam a few days ago. They tell me a practical exam is coming, but no sign of it yet.
