Parking and showering
Apr. 6th, 2005 10:59 pmI spent the whole afternoon in Tappan Square, the little park in the middle of Oberlin, soaking up sunlight and warmth. I wore my sandals; I wore my round green sunglasses. I ate pizza for a picnic and read The Last Light of the Sun. I fetched my guitar and played beneath a tree while passing pretty girls smiled at me. It was pretty stunningly wonderful.
I also had a chance to be handy today. K. woke me to say the shower had stopped working, so I unscrewed the shower head and determined, since water poured unimpeded from the pipe, that something within the head had broken or bent or come loose. A trip to the hardware store and $13.00 later, I had a new shower head, which produces a much nicer showering experience than the old one ever did: precise needles of high-pressure water replace the former blubbery dribble. (The underside is mirror-polished, and the reflected water jets look a bit like the mouth of the Sarlacc.) I'll need to buy some plumbing tape to improve the seal, but it's a perfectly nice shower now.
Tomorrow: thunderstorms! Today: ( pictures! )
