You know Christmas shopping is going well when you've chosen a fine gift for someone—something totally unrelated to DVDs, I might add—then look down to see a sign saying "Buy this product, get a free DVD!" Blammo: two gifts for the price of one!

A trip to mallworld later, I have gifts for nearly everyone on my list (plus cotton boxers for me, 4 pr., in various lovely colors including Teal). I should still buy supplementary gifts for five or six people, and two or three are as yet unbegun, but I have many presents, and I am quite pleased with all of them. I can mail the only ones wot need mailing tomorrow, then finish up my shopping downtown—leaving some slots open for a little post-Christmas shopping in the funky shops of Portsmouth, for the fine people I won't be seeing until after Christmas.

God rest ye merry!

*yawn*

I was up until 5AM working (BobCratchitMode=ON) and drinking some of the fabulous hot-pepper Aztec cocoa [livejournal.com profile] adfamiliares got for me in Toronto (j7yBuzzed=TRUE), had a brainflash about a new mechanic for Flirt that would make it oh-so-much less cumbersome (j7yClever=TRUE), then failed to fall asleep when my brain kept spinning due to the combination of the above (j7yClever=FALSE). I was awakened shortly after finally falling asleep by three phone calls from the Beep, at 10:25, 10:30, and 10:35 (argh=ON), then again by the cat when she discovered there were Xmas presents in fun crinkly bags in my bedroom (GetCat{dropkick|5yds}).

Despite my sleepiness, I managed to score major Christmas victories today. I wrapped and mailed presents, and "finished" all my shopping. The quotes are there because I could be done now, but I still have money left in my budget and a few ideas for supplementary gifts for people. Returning from town, [livejournal.com profile] adfamiliares accused me of being the "King of Christmas." It's true, and I was touched, though she was being cheerfully sarcastic in the face of my burbling—I do love choosing presents for people, and when I find Just The Right Thing my toes don't touch the ground for a while. She teases me about the Christmas Shopping Bar Graph I carry around on a 3x5 card in my pocket this time of year—but, really, it's very handy!

(Also, I love it when stores show the Muppet Christmas Special, and I get there just in time to see Kermit and Robin's trip to Fraggle Rock. "Squonk squonk...pass it on!")
