We have pseudoscorpions! Perhaps some of you would not be pleased by this news—perhaps [livejournal.com profile] adfamiliares is not particularly pleased, for that matter—but I find them fascinating and adorably pugnacious, and they predate upon all sorts of things we don't want living with us. If you don't mind crawly things, take a look at this cute mug. )

Sometimes, a moment comes along in the avalanche of history when there's juuuuust enough space between the tumbling boulders to slide a poniard in. Sometimes a satirist gets to say exactly what we wish we could say, to exactly whom we wish we could say it, and the target can do nothing but sit there and smile (or, in this case, scowl). At the White House Press Corps Dinner, with George W. Bush and Laura Bush and Scott McLellan and Tony Snow and so many others in attendance, one brave satirist spoke his mind—or, rather, spoke the mind of the conservative commentators he was parodying—to a decidedly frosty audience. Hilarity ensued.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Stephen Colbert.

Thanks to BoingBoing. (N.B.: they're posted in reverse order, so watch the bottom video first.)
