Heatbeaters
Aug. 2nd, 2006 04:12 pmIt's 95° in the house at the moment. Gus is miserably limp and furry. I failed to sleep last night. My mother suggested creating a makeshift air conditioner by freezing bottles of water and placing them in front of a fan, but I'm not convinced that did anything.
Instead, I came here to Uncommon Grounds to work, where they have A/C and delicious frozen lime drinks. Four kids (three geeks and a hot chickie) are playing Set just to my left, though they seem to be taking turns instead of madly slapping at cards. This variant opens a narrow window through which I can see myself not sucking at Set, but the chances still seem slim.
I'll need to head home to the oven shortly, but God promised me rain.
