Cranking the milkfat
Sep. 5th, 2006 10:31 pmWoof. The intro Latin site is up. It's not very inspired, but I plumb ran out of time.
adfamiliares didn't like the design I spent Monday afternoon on, so I had to knock this one out in a few hours. It is up, and the kids can learn their agricola sums.
We went shopping last night, and returned with a new floor lamp for the bedroom (a torchiere with nifty brass vines twining around it), adjustable pliers and a Moen cartridge for fixing the faucet in the kitchen, and a handsome fall jacket for me: black canvas with a leather collar and flannel lining, all for $60. There's a little pocket on the inside for an iPod, but my iPod is too big for it. Alas.
Tonight,
adfamiliares's aunt Ruth and uncle Devon were in town, and took us out for a swanky dinner at Brindisi's. They're an interesting couple. Devon told us about the obese milk tester who shared a room with him and his brothers in their tiny farmhouse. He had a hand-cranked centrifuge for separating out the milkfat, and peeked in at Devon's sister when he shouldn't. Some characters write themselves, don't they?
