Wedding dresses canned and preserved

(Subject from a dry-cleaner's sign I keep misreading.)

It's been an exciting week, and about to get even excitinger. We've had many guests staying at the Montfern Hotel, enough that the cat has gotten sort of blasé about them: jedediah was here from Wednesday through Friday, creed_of_hubris and tapas have been here since he left, and wayman dropped in for crash space tonight.

They were all in town for the excellent and heartfelt wedding of irilyth and psocoptera, who dressed all in white and, in the geeky but perfectly appropriate museum of industry, promised to share their lives and be awesome to each other. (They used more words than that: they promised, for instance, to scratch each other's backs when they got itchy, and to sometimes be absent but always be there. They were some pretty kickass vows.) Due to me boneheadedly forgetting my good flash, the pictures I took were not what I would've liked, but it was a pretty wonderful evening anyway. I got to see oodles of friends and eat barbecue and watch two people I like a lot about to burst with happiness; what could be better?

Tomorrow we kick everybody out and scoot to Pinewoods for a week of Scottish dancing and music-playing and frolicking in the ponds. See you Saturday.
