Like clockwork, the 64 bus took us to Central, the Red Line took us to South Station, Amtrak took us to 30th Street in Philly, SEPTA took us to the airport, USAirways took us to MSY, and
carpenter took us to our hotel in the shadow of the Superdome. Stepping outside in New Orleans, I figured out why they call it "muggy" — the heat knocks you on the back of your head and tries to take your wallet as soon as you leave the air conditioning. This was at 7PM; I'm curious to see what it'll be like at noon in the middle of the bayou.
New Orleans is beautiful from the air at sunset — we flew over a long line of tankers following one another like ducks up the lazy S-bends of the Mississippi. We haven't really seen it from the ground yet; hopefully that'll change tomorrow. Right now, since this long day started with me getting up at 6:30AM, I say goodnight!
