"Nixon haunts Red Sox as Indians tie ALCS"

Get home from the eggplant party a bit before midnight. Turn on the playoffs. (We are, shockingly, a house divided — I'm a Sox fan, adfamiliares likes the Indians.) The score when I turn it on, at the beginning of inning 7: Red Sox 6, Indians 6. I flip back every half hour or so.

At the beginning of inning 8: Red Sox 6, Indians 6.

At the beginning of inning 9: Red Sox 6, Indians 6.

At the beginning of inning 10: Red Sox 6, Indians 6.

At the beginning of inning 11: Red Sox 6, Indians 6.

At the end of inning 11: Red Sox 6, Indians 13.

carpenter co-hosted her annual eggplant party with tirerim tonight, and I daresay it was a mad success. (Certainly there were a lot of eggplant dishes there.) My eggplant chips 'n' eggplant dip were pretty thoroughly devoured, so I am pleased. (Both are available on the web: chips and dip. I followed the recipes closely, but used four different kinds of eggplant in each one.) I was also happy to stuff myself full of ruthling's eggplant lasagna and eggplant fudge, ccommack's eggplant sushi, Otavia's mint eggplant rolls, psocoptera's eggplant ice cream, and herbertinc's (non-eggplant) truffles. It was great to have a chance just to talk to people I hadn't seen in a while — mst3kforall said some very kind and encouraging things about my writing, and seemed shocked to discover how much internal angst the process puts me through. :) herbertinc used me as a recliner for an hour or so, adfamiliares mined the guests for wedding planning data, and I set one tiny thing on fire which somehow made me "untrustworthy" for the entire evening.

Humph.

(But it was loads of fun anyway.)
