adfamiliares and I fled to the quiet side of the island on Tuesday, just the two of us. We got pizza and bread at the Southwest Harbor pizzeria / bakery we ate at last year (Little Notch), browsed the lovely grocery store next door (lots of fresh produce and artisanal olive oils in shiny urns), climbed Beech Mountain (next post!), and stopped in at the Charlotte Rhoades Park and Butterfly Garden. It is tiny and adorable and almost entirely bereft of butterflies, at least in late August, but there were hummingbirds to make up for it.
( Shockingly, I took some pictures! )
