Major scoop
Jan. 3rd, 2010 10:00 pmReturning from my mom's house with the cat, the cat litter scoop was dug into the litter box until Gus-Gus started looking like she wanted to use the litter box, at which point I took it out (not wanting it to interfere with her business) and set it down in the rear footwell.
Which is where it remains.
adfamiliares is a) in possession of the only key to the car (I do not drive) and b) in San Francisco.
All is not lost, however. We have a back-up scoop, which has lived on the back porch and/or in the back yard for the last year, for reasons which are complicated and uninteresting. And that is where it is. Probably. Tucked safely away beneath the blanket of snow that covers the porch and the yard to a depth of six inches. I just poked about vigorously with a broom handle, leaning out in stocking feet from the shelter of the back door, and uncovered 1) plastic flowerpots, 2) empty propane bottles, and 3) the cat's lead, but no cat litter scoop. I fear a searching party will be necessary.
