adfamiliares and I were flipping around the radio dial in New Jersey and came across a voice telling us that the Rapture would occur on May 21st of this year, with exigetical evidence for this prediction and vocal condemnations of the mainstream church, which has not saved a single soul since the "Silence in Heaven" began on May 21st, 1988. The reading was followed by a warbling soprano singing Ode to Joy, with the lyrics changed to be about May 21, 2011. We had stumbled across Family Radio, the radio station of civil engineer Harold Camping, and you can listen to the tract we heard on his site. (The Ode to Joy version does not seem to be available, alas.)
Then we get home, and this is the third story on BoingBoing's front page.
