Cryptic cereal

Here's a cryptic crossword clue for you, perhaps jotted on the back of a postcard from Frodo: "Timeless havens are awful. (7)" Don't read the next paragraph if you'd like to solve it yourself.

I picked up a box of Lucky Charms at the supermarket today. On the box was written, "Add MILK to reveal Lucky's hideouts." Only I read it as "hideous." I actually looked at the side of the box, expecting to see the word "secrets" wrapping around the edge.

Alas.

I read the Lucky Charms comment just now as "add MLK to reveal Lucky's hideouts", and couldn't figure out what the struggle for racial equality had to do with it...

(Did the Lucky Charms box really suggest that you drip milk on it? I would think it would lose structural integrity.)

I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to add the milk to the cereal, though I haven't tried pouring anything on the box yet. Some of the marshmallows, you see, are coated with some sort of white powder, and when the milk hits them the marshmallow image below appears, revealing Lucky's hideous secrets.
