I have no idea, but I'm really intrigued by your point and would like to hear what you find out. ;) I've never asked a lesbian couple if they mentally compare hotness... Though to be honest, thinking of the gay couples I know, they do seem to be much more assortively mated than the mixed-sex couples--I know a number of straight couples where the question is always, wow, how did *he* end up with a woman like *her* or vice versa, but with the same-sex couples I know, they tend to be much more similar in build and physique and style, at least to the external eye. Could be sampling error, of course.
