It was 40° in our apartment when I woke up. The fire and sunlight got it up to 43° before we left for the friendly Scottish dance party (and Flurry-substitute) I am now at. I boiled water over the fire, enough to wash my hands and face, but had to wait until we got here for a shower. Now, I work while
adfamiliares dances, because my Google sabbatical begins at midnight. Yeep.
No real news about when power will be restored, but we have heard the words "Sunday afternoon" thrown around on the radio. Fingers crossed. I'm not looking forward to going home tonight; the low is expected to be 5°, not counting the wind chill.
In happier news, good old Louie is here, as is Beth (
genarti), whom I met at a ball in Albany last October. It's good to see her again, and to finally get her LJ username.
