For comparison, Jimmy Carter's approval rating was 34% when he left office, and Nixon's was 24%. Clinton's and Reagan's were 64-65%.

(Granted, I actually agree with Bush and Carter that the Dubai ports deal is a lot of kerfuffle over nothing, and probably motivated by bigotry to boot, but that makes it even tastier somehow.)
