Stopping shopping
Dec. 20th, 2004 11:40 pmTonight, with a few clicks of my mighty mouse (Ha! Mighty Mouse!), clicks that sent packages flying to my dad's house in North Carolina, I finished my Christmas shopping. As usual, I went over my budget; I sort of dread my credit card statement. But that's a story you hear a million times this time of year.
Tomorrow night, we lose our kitty. It's temporary, fret not; she's just staying with friends while we galavant up and down the eastern seaboard. But it's sad all the same; I won't have a ball of fur purring under my chin while I'm trying to read in bed, and there will be nothing to protect us from the fierce Blanket Mice and Foot Monsters. We've only had her a month, and she'll be gone three weeks. *snif*
Google now has my paperwork, they tell me, though I've not yet been sent any specific information on my duties. I'm looking forward to it, though of course I won't be able to tell y'all what I'm up to. And I had to agree to not engage in any insider trading. Since the only stock I plan to own anytime soon is chicken, I don't think it'll be an issue, but I read it and agreed to it. Overkill for lil' ol' me.
The temperature has been lurking in or around the single digits for the last couple of days; it hurts to suck air into your lungs. I have, therefore, been a lazy bum, lying around watching the Alias DVDs we rented and re-reading Wild Cards books. It'll be good to get on the road Friday, see some people, do some stuff. I'm thinking of making pepperoni bread for the trip. Mmmmm.
