I am victoriously eating Pop Tarts. Pop Tarts because mmm, Pop Tarts, and victoriously because I just fixed our toaster oven (again). It turns out the wire I soldered in place last time was not of a heavy enough gauge, so it—well, let's just say that what I really installed was a verrry slow fuse. I have an 18-gauge hunk of copper bridging the gap now; we'll see if it lasts.
Last night and all of today I spent putting together
adfamiliares's
class website #2—now with more nudity! (Sadly, I haven't yet added week 9 to the syllabus: "Slavery and the ass.") I am pleased, partly because my template makes the whole process ever so much easier, partly because I'm proud of how pretty they are. One more to go (before Monday morning), this one Caesarean.
Also last night we were invited to dinner-n-gaming with
adfamiliares's colleague Dan and his family. They cooked really wonderful chicken curry (with jasmine rice and naan) for us; we provided the Dutch apple cake, which seemed to go over well. I discovered I am not as bad at Boggle as I thought (why, yes, greek and japan
are legitimate Boggle words), but despite my mastery of odds I am far far worse at Yahtzee. We dabbled with the idea of Empire Builder, but it was too late. Next time.
