That's not cricket...or is it?
Dec. 21st, 2006 01:17 pmDo I want this antique print for $35? This online store offers it for $95CAD, and the bookstore downtown has it for $35, so it seems a bargain of sorts, but I don't know if that's a reasonable price for a small (7"x4" or so) matted print. Hmm...my mom would probably frame it for free, and I have been wanting more natural historical decor...but it seems so decadent!
The fetching little critter is apparently a "king cricket"; I can't tell if this particular guy is a kind of weta (as in Peter Jackson's effects house), but they share the same family (Anostostomidae). It sure does look like the male Wellington tree weta on the Wikipedia page.
