Do I believe the thermostat, which claims it is 68°? Or do I believe my trusty old Boy Scout thermometer—brought in from outside, warmed to 70° in my hand, then allowed to sit for the duration of Bones and a hummus-sprout-gouda sandwich—which claims it is 55°? My Boy Scout thermometer, which, in other words, is accusing the thermostat of deliberately perpetrating a deception upon the household (possibly for personal financial gain), or at least of being unfit to carry out the duties of temperature sentinel?

The tip of my nose agrees with the thermometer. I want to conserve energy like Al Gore says, but really.

On the other hand: Stephen Fry! Guest-starring on Bones! As an eccentric psychiatrist! Counseling David Boreanaz! And given excellent dialogue to speak! May I squee?

What, you pay the same for heat regardless and the thermostat only forwards to the utility what you actually owe?

I loved Stephen Fry's part... he nearly stole the show. I say nearly because Boreanaz played opposite him so well, the dynamics carried the episode.
