Home safe. Alumni Weekend was brilliant, for ever so many reasons. I'll write more when I'm not sliding sideways off my chair, but in the course of just one evening:

  • I watched asphalt burning in the rain beneath a 13,000-volt shower of sparks;
  • I taught a roomful of people to make Play-Doh kill;
  • I monopolized All The Cute Girls on the not-quite-collapsible snuggle-couch;
  • I finally saw the lost MST3K short Assignment: Venezuela (thank you so much, [livejournal.com profile] musingsylph!);
  • I turned purple;
  • I brainstormed live-action RoboRally ideas with some geeks of high quality; and
  • I sent a minor earthquake through the coordinate space of Josh Smith Numbers.

Most importantly, I made new friends, and spent quality time with many old ones. Thank you, everyone who helped make it brilliant. :)=

I think I've reached the pinnacle of my JoshSmithiness.

Really? Are you a 1?

I figure one has not truly reached the pinnacle of JoshSmithiness unless a) your number is 1, b) you are dead, or c) Josh Smith is dead.

I advise that you not try options b) or c), as they would make many people very sad.

No, not a 1, just a 3, and I recognize that my number still has the possibility of dropping further, but whereas last week (as a 5) I expected that my number would drop at some point, I no longer think it's likely.

Hmmm...well, now, if we put our heads together.... ;)=

Heads, eh? So that's all it takes these days?

I feel that one is not allowed to make gossip-suggesting comments like that without providing the actual gossip, especially when some of us are still 4s eight different ways, and dating another alum didn't do anything to lower that number. And don't you go making suggestions, jere7my!

Hm. Yes, I can see how that might be considered cruel.

or d) you wake up one morning and discover yourself transformed into Josh Smith.

Bwa ha. In which case, wacky antics would ensue. Also mass confusion.

Teehee. *Tries to look mischievous through the blushing*

Thank you for for helping to make my time at Alumni Weekend brilliant, as well! Oh, and sorry about the purple bit.

I'm trying come up with the right inspiration for my own AW post.

I am no longer purple, so all is well. Memories last longer than dye jobs. :)=

I take issue with your Latin, although I haven´t decided what I would replace the first álumni´with. Perhaps a consultation with your sweetie is in order?

It took me a really long time to drag out my Latin dictionary while sitting in front of a computer, heh.

But, being as nit-picky as I can manage, I had been thinking more along the lines of post gradum susceptos, ergo alumnos. I know it doesn´t echo the logical fallacy, but I think the phrase has to work a lot differently with a noun, rather than a pronoun. :-P

Hah! I'm making contact, albeit in the most fluffy and roundabout way possible. But still...

Color me astounded! I see you wrote about our biennial tradition in your journal; we really need to break that tradition sometime. ;)=

Yay!! I'm glad you had a good time!! Can't wait to hear about it from all the folks who went...
And an earthquake in JS number space made me chuckle. :)
