I ate a rock from the moon?
Feb. 11th, 2011 10:57 pmBeen sick since Wednesday. Woke up a little stiff and tired, with a swollen lymph node; then developed mild nausea at work. Nausea became acute as my mouth started filling with a sour, bilious saliva, but I spat it into the toilet (knelt and let it drain out, really — it seemed endless, like rain off a rain forest canopy), and since my lymph node seemed smaller I wondered if it had somehow drained through my salivary glands. Anyway, I thought I was done.
Now, 2.5 days later, I am: achy, shivering, hypersensitive, restless-legged, constipated, sore-throated, weepy, loopy, runny-nosed, and exhausted — always exhausted, barely able to climb the stairs exhausted, sleeping 13 hours a night exhausted. No vomiting, knock wood. Nose is twitchy. Had a migraine-like glowy thing visit me earlier.
I thought I was feeling better after dinner tonight, and used that burst of energy to do my laundry, but I fear I overexerted myself. Now I am back to being a lump that only wants to watch MST3K and sit under all the blankets. I don't like feeling useless, or like a burden. And I haven't done any writing since Tuesday, which racks me with guilt. No chapter for
adfamiliares to review on Sunday. :(
On the other hand, I woke up to news of a bloodless revolution in Egypt. The world is wonderful.
