Undergraduates invaded our home tonight. Three perched on our couch; several others claimed chairs and bits of floor. They marveled at our 70s den and drank up our cider. One of them (Chloe, who was LARPing last time I saw her) exclaimed madly over the Brust on my bookshelves, and another (Lee) loved my Morrow. (Lee later went on to say I have the best coffee-table books ever, and that my dimples are "cavernous.") The quiet fellow on the couch (Adam) picked up Lunch Money from the game pile, caught my eye, and nodded in approval.

This was K.'s first-ever review session, and after everyone was done pawing through my goodies it went very well. Her students clearly adore her, and to judge by the discussion that reached my ears (I was lurking in the den) they seem like a bright bunch. I was pleased to have company in our frequently too-quiet house. K. is feeling quite pleased and professorial, and went to bed bubbling.

(Lee earns additional bonus points in two ways: one, by bringing lemon poppyseed muffins, and two, by having worked for Looney Labs, makers of Fluxx, Chrononauts, and Icehouse. Looney Labs, like Mayfair, has released their own version of Mafia. No werehamsters in this one, but I am reminded how much I love and hate Mafia, and how I would like to play sometime. Perhaps with Chloe and Lee, et al.?)
