Two seekers
Feb. 2nd, 2005 04:48 pmI have a rather demanding cat on my lap, who is letting me know, not very subtly, that I should be skritching her ears instead of tapping these silly white buttons. And then she purrs; how can I refuse her? But it's the magic pink blanket I'm wrapped in that she loves, not me.
K. is, even as I type, lecturing at Swarthmore. That is unutterably cool. Last night she went out to dinner at Peking with the faculty, and then, this morning, she taught William's Latin prose class, which she really enjoyed. (Someone apparently made a reference to Josh Smith numbers. *sigh*) She is having a very nice time in general, she tells me—though of course she's a bit nervous—and she'll be home late tonight. Thank you,
flammifera and others, for showing her such a nice time at lunch!
After two months of not hearing very much, I've finally started my Google work—or, rather, I've started taking the test that will let Google know if they want me to work for them. I spent about four hours yesterday reading their guidelines and instructions. It looks like interesting work, and work for which I'm well-suited; let's hope I pass. I still can't say much, beyond "I'll be browsing the web for money!"
I feel so close-lipped and secretive in this entry. Who knows what K. is really experiencing at Swarthmore? Who can say what Google will have me doing? Who knows what movie I watched this afternoon? Not you, me buckos. Ho ho!
