Did y'all know that This Must Be the Place from Talking Heads' Speaking in Tongues is Kendra's and my song? The version from the rerelease of Stop Making Sense just popped up on my iPod.

Lest you (or she) think that me mooning over faraway girlies means I fail to appreciate my sweetie.

That's cool. Not that I know the song; it could be violent death metal for all I know, except that I'm, you know, guessing not.

But I am interested in the couple-song-having phenomenon. How did that become your song? Was it playing at some significant time? Did you both just decide you liked it? Did one of you "nominate" it first and the other second it?

How did that become your song?

Well, I noticed a year or two ago that we didn't have a song, and so began suggesting candidates. I believe I was pushing for David Bowie's Heroes when Kendra said, "No. But perhaps you should think about This Must Be the Place as an alternative." Talking Heads was very significant to me growing up, Kendra and I both love the song, and I realized, when she said it, that it already remnded me of her. Hence, our song.
