Superheroes vs. Weather-Man!
Apr. 25th, 2007 02:04 amI put in my tape of last night's Heroes — the big exciting spring premiere, after some weeks sans Heroes — and was treated to a shrunken screen framed by fifty-nine minutes of "Oh my daisies, a storm is coming!" in a bright red L, with scrolling text across the bottom and an animated weather map for good measure. I guess they didn't have room for a dancing weather hedgehog blowing party favors at me. "FWEEE-AH! I'm a hedgehog! There might be hail!"
The red L finally went away just as we reached the climactic scene, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
Then the last minute was cut off, because the episode ran long.
Graar.
Not a huge problem on the Problem Scale, but Holy Crap Why Would They Tell Me The Weather For 59 Minutes? Presumably I am already inside, if I am watching my TV, no? It wasn't even a particularly interesting storm. I suspect they did it mostly to shill their Weather Warn email alert system, ads for which scrolled along regularly.
Happily, the episodes are available to watch at nbc.com, so I did that. And I emailed NBC Albany to tell 'em so.
