Climbing for honey
Sep. 12th, 2009 01:05 pmI was intimidated by the Beehive. I really wanted to climb it during the Acadia trip, but I got wildly mixed messages from the internet: from "I almost died!" to "My 8-year-old loved it!" I probably would've wussed out, but

The Beehive looks imposing (see above), but once we were up there it wasn't too strenuous. Exhilarating in spots, occasionally scary, but there was always an iron rung to hand when I needed one. It was probably more purely fun than any other trail I hiked — so fun, in fact, that I did it again with
